The Jersey Pistol Association hosted the PP2 (Police Pistol 2) competition on the JPC 50m Range, bringing together a focused field of competitors for one of the most technically demanding precision‑and‑movement matches on the calendar. PP2 challenges shooters across multiple distances, timed exposures, and positional transitions — rewarding consistency, control, and disciplined marksmanship.
Weather conditions, range setup, and squad flow all contributed to a smooth and efficient event, with competitors demonstrating both sportsmanship and strong adherence to safety throughout.
The PP2 competition followed a three‑distance format, challenging competitors to demonstrate precision, control, and consistency across short, long, and intermediate ranges.
🔹 10 Metres – Close‑Range Control
The match opened at 10m, where shooters were tested on rapid target acquisition and disciplined trigger work. With minimal margin for error in timing, this stage rewarded smooth draws, stable sight alignment, and the ability to deliver accurate shots under short exposure times.
🔹 50 Metres – Long‑Range Precision
The 50m stage introduced the most demanding accuracy requirement of the match. Competitors transitioned to a supported or standing position (depending on the specific PP2 variant used), focusing on breathing control and sight steadiness. This distance consistently separates the field, and strong performances here were crucial for those aiming for top positions.
🔹 25 Metres – Technical Consistency
The final distance at 25m blended precision with time pressure. Shooters engaged turning targets through a series of timed strings, incorporating reloads and positional changes. This stage rewarded rhythm, confidence, and the ability to maintain accuracy while managing the clock.
